Nobody knows this service exists until a neighbor books it. A can that's sat in the sun through a York County August has a layer inside it that hosing won't touch, and the smell isn't the trash. It's what's baked onto the walls of the can.

What a real bin cleaning involves
- We come right after your pickup day. An empty can is the whole trick. You can't properly clean one with two days of trash sitting in it, and timing it around your collection doesn't cost you anything.
- Hot water, under pressure, inside and out. What's stuck in there is organic and greasy. Cold water just moves it around. Hot water and pressure actually lift it off the walls.
- The rim and the lid channel get real attention. That's where most of the smell lives, and it's exactly what a quick rinse misses every time.
- Deodorized, then left to dry. Clean and fresh aren't the same thing, and a damp bin shut up in July is a problem waiting to happen.
Timing it around your pickup
The most useful thing you can tell us when you book is which day your trash runs. Red Lion, Dallastown, Felton and York are all on different days, and some townships alternate recycling weeks. We schedule bins for right after yours have been emptied, when they're empty, out at the curb and easy to get at.
If you're booking bins along with something else, it's worth asking whether we can line the two up. Adding cans to a visit we're already making is far and away the cheapest way to get them done.
Where the dirty water goes
Washing a bin makes dirty water with food waste in it, and where that ends up genuinely matters. Anything that goes down a storm drain in York County is headed for a creek, not a treatment plant. The EPA explains the reasoning in their stormwater program. It's a fair thing to ask anybody who offers this service, and worth asking before you book with someone.

When you should call us, and when you shouldn't
Call us if your garage smells like the bin, or your can hasn't been cleaned once in all the years you've owned the house. Also if you're already booking us for concrete or siding, since you may as well have the cans done while we're there anyway.
Don't bother if your can is cracked or the lid is broken, because cleaning it won't fix the smell. The problem is whatever is soaking into that crack. Most municipalities will swap out a damaged bin for you. And if you need a full commercial dumpster done, that's a different scale of job, so talk to us about commercial service instead.

When should I schedule it?
Right after your pickup day, while the cans are empty. Tell us which day your trash runs when you book and we'll work around it. An empty can is the difference between a real cleaning and a rinse.
Do I have to be home?
Nope. If the cans are out by the driveway or the curb we'll take care of it while you're out. Just tell us where they live and whether there's a gate.
Will it actually get rid of the smell?
Yes, as long as the can itself is in one piece. The smell comes from residue baked onto the walls and sitting up in the rim and lid channel, and that's exactly what hot water under pressure takes off. A cracked can is the exception, because waste soaks down into the crack.
Do you do it on a schedule?
Yes, and it costs less per visit than one-offs because the bins never get back to worst-case. Quarterly suits most households. Monthly through summer if your garage is closed in.
Can you do the whole street?
Ask us. Several houses on one street is a single trip for us and we can work something out on price. Worth mentioning it to a neighbor or two before you book.
What if there are maggots in mine?
Then yours is exactly the can that needs doing, and trust us, we've seen worse. Book it right after a pickup so it's empty and we'll handle it.
